Payment of half is needed to book and hold your date, the remaining due at the time of delivery.

A copy of the book along with a synopsis is needed for the production of the trailer. I read all books for my trailers. I feel that you can't accurately portray to an audience the feel of the book, without reading it first. I know there are circumstances that the book is not always available at the time of booking or not until close to the release date. In those circumstances, I ask for a phone meeting in order to discuss the plots and characters.
